Windows 7 seem to become the current hot topic, computer users tend to abandon their old operating system and install the latest windows 7. For your information, frequently formatting your hard disk may cause permanent damage to it. Instead of formatting your computer, you may choose the option of upgrading your computer’s operating system.

As i upgrade my operating system to windows 7 recently, i encounter the problem of C drive hard disk space shortage. Installation of Windows 7 require about 10-20gb (mine is 18gb) hard disk space in which you may need to clean up your C drive before you can install/upgrade to Windows 7. Tutorial on resize/extend your computer partition:

Step 1: Click on the hard disk drive you want to resize

Step 2: Click the resize/move button (as shown in figure above)

Step 3: Allocate the hard disk space according to your need

Step 4: Unallocated space after resizing shown

Step 5: After finish resizing, the unallocated space will shown

Step 6: Drag D drive downward, so that unallocated space will moved upward (as shown in figure)

Step 7: Drag C drive to combine with unallocated disk space (as shown in figure)

Step 8: You are done! An extended C drive in your computer.

With an extended C drive, you can now install/upgrade to Windows 7 without any hard disk space shortage problem.
