I am a huge fan of Dell product especially Dell Inspiron Laptop. I own a Dell Inspiron 14 two year ago before i change to my recent laptop, Dell Inspiron 15 which equipped with Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT and larger hard disk capacity. Recently, Dell has released a new Inspiron R which has faster processor, larger hard disk space, and smoother visual performance with better graphic card attached.
New Dell Inspiron R has three different size (13′, 14′, 15′) which is the same as previous version of Inspiron Series. A multiple choices of color is also available for customers to choose according to their preference. Dell reduces the choices of color to four which are Obsidian Black, Tomato Red, Peacock Blue and Lotus Pink.
I will attach the information of Dell Inspiron 14R as below. The same information can also be obtained at Dell website.
Dell Inspiron 14R

- Intel® Core™ i5-430M Processor (2.26Ghz, 4Threads, Turbo Boost up to 2.53 GHz, 3M cache)
- Genuine Windows® 7 Home Basic 64 bit (English)
- 2GB (1 X 2 GB) 1 DIMM DDR3 1333Mhz
- 320GB 5400RPM Hard Drive
- 12.7″ SATA Tray Load DVD+/-RW
- ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 – 1GB
You may choose to change the i5 processor to i3 processor but it’s unwise to do so if you requests better performance for your laptop. i3 is cheaper than i5 but at the same time, i3 has less performance. Moreover, i5 processor is capable to boost up its performance to 2.53 GHz which it’s not available in i3 processor.
The new Dell Inspiron 14R also equipped with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470. According to benchmark conducted by Netbookcheck, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 is categorized as Class 2, having a middle class of performance. Besides, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 has a better performance than Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT, as installed in the previous version of Dell Inspiron.
