Today , i would share with you what i found in internet yesterday.

How would you do if you cannot find a suitable template for your blog? OR, you are not satisfied with certain setting in your existing template. Would you hire a website designer to make the changes for you with a certain amount of payment?

Why not DIY your own template for your blog? I find a useful tool to help you modify/design your own template for FREE. This great tool is called Artisteer.

Artisteer is capable to create unique, fantastic looking and awesome template for your blog. You may export the edited template to Blogger, Wordpress, Joomla and other CMS product. NO website design knowledge is required to use this software as it’s stated in the Artisteer “No need to learn Photoshop, CSS, HTML or other technologies”.

For a more detail instruction on how to design a template, i will try this software to create a outstanding template for your reference.

First, download the Trial version of Artisteer.

{Download}

Next, install the Artisteer.

You may start Artisteer by pressing the Artisteer icon in your desktop.

At the initialling process, choose the CMS (wordpress/blogger/Joomla/etc) that you are going to paste the template to. In my case, i am choosing Wordpress.

After you have chosen the right CMS, you are now exposed to a sample which you are going to edit it.

Is that the setting tool bar similar to the Microsoft Office tool bar?

From the diagram above, there is a big button labelled Suggest Design, click on it to change the sample of template until you find one that you like.

In my case , i choose this sample to be my subject.

ok, are you ready with the sample template that you like the most?

Let’s we start with the header part of the template.

Find the header tab in the setting tool bar, click on it. Find yourself a good looking header from the existing option.

Some of you may not like the 2 column design, so you can make it 3 column template in LAYOUT tab (under column section)

Choose the width and number of columns you need

Two small sidebar and a wide centre column for post

I choose the 3 column layout for my template because i would like to put some advertisement at the sidebar, By the way, i choose a wider middle column for post so that reader is concentrating on the post but not the ads beside.

I am doing a simple tutorial on how to create a template using Artisteer, so i will not changing many default setting in the sample template.

This is the DIY Wordpress Template made by Ricky.

PS :You may not get the fully functional template with trail version of Artisteer. A watermark will be showed in the template you made. To obtain a fully functional template, consider to buy this software.
