Recently i have placed a useful stuff in blog sidebar to make it easier to share recommended software with my blog reader. This useful stuff is called Box, a online storage just enough for normal use such as sharing of music, video and document. Instead of having a special page for software download, there is a need to make software download more visible to my blog reader.
There are few plans of Box available for you which are Lite (FREE), Individual and Business plan. As i just want to try out this new stuff, i choose Lite plan which only provides 1GB of web storage with 25MB file size limit. For a normal software file size (10~50MB) , i could store up to 100 software files in Box which is a great deal for me. If you have lot of stuff needed to be stored online, then you should consider to choose Individual plan which give you 10GB of web storage with 1GB file size limit. Individual plan will acquire $9.95 per month after trial. Individual plan is having much more advantages over Lite plan which includes faster upload, expanded storage size and premium OpenBox application.
It’s a easy tool to use compare to the procedure of setting up a new download page as i did in the past. After signing up for a Box account, all you need to do is to create a new folder , name it according to your purpose and lastly, upload file, video or software to the folder. If you intent to show these uploaded file to your blog reader like what i did, simply log in to your Box account and looking for “Embed folder in your site” located at sidebar of Box interface. Copy html code and paste it in your blog. After embed folder in your blog, blog reader can simply click on the selected file to download from Box to PC.
